Rock Health Celebrates Scene CEO Sebastian Seiguer As a Top 50 Digital Health Honoree
Baltimore, MD (May 6, 2024) — Sebastian Seiguer, Co-Founder and CEO of Scene Health, has been recognized by Rock Health, a leading healthcare advisory and venture fund, as a Top 50 Digital Health Honoree in the public health category. This honor highlights Sebastian’s 10-year journey leading Scene Health as a Johns Hopkins spinout company that has successfully translated evidence-based public health solutions to the broader healthcare market.
“The history of public health demonstrates the power of direct, one-to-one provider care and interventions in helping vulnerable populations. Scene Health has pioneered the use of video technology and virtual care to expand and scale provider interventions while maintaining personal connectivity,” said Sebastian. “We appreciate Rock Health’s recognition of Scene Health as well as their acknowledgment of community-focused models of care in digital health.”
Scene’s program helps Managed Care Organizations, public health departments, and life sciences organizations leverage evidence-based population and community health strategies while delivering individualized care. Scene Health’s video Directly Observed Therapy (video DOT) and Linkage to Care programs support people in taking their medication correctly and consistently. Achieving true medication adherence (beyond refill adherence) leads to improved clinical outcomes and keeps people out of emergent care. More than 700 customers and 25+ peer-reviewed publications have demonstrated Scene’s adherence improvement for people with diabetes, hypertension, asthma, COPD, sickle cell, substance use disorders, HIV, HCV, and other life-threatening conditions.Â
Scene’s video DOT program, now recommended as part of the standard of care by the CDC, uses async video to remove geographic and scheduling barriers and enable daily personalized medication support. Scene’s Linkage to Care program is modeled on the “cascade of care,” a holistic approach to supporting members from diagnosis to condition control: addressing medical and non-medical barriers, seeing providers, getting labs and vitals, and filling appropriate prescriptions.
